A piece of seating that simply screams its era – the Geoffrey Harcourt Chaise Longue. That space age look isn't inspired by a bygone era, it's from a bygone era – 1970 to be precise. Yet it still looks years ahead of its time. What else can you say? Well, that foam padding should provide you with a great place to nap during that day and there's a wide choice of fabrics available to fit your interior. And if it doesn't fit, just wheel it into another room.

transplastic
recent work by the campana brothers 5 june – 10 august 2007 albion gallery, london http://www.albion-gallery.com the transplastic series tells a fictional story: in a world made of plastic and synthetic matter, a fertile ground is laid for transgenic creations. natural fibres recover the plastic as in an immunological response: nature grows from the plastic and overpowers it. this collection encapsulates many concepts explored throughout the campana’s trajectory; revisiting material clashes with a more mature approach. it refers back to the premise, used in 2000 with the ‘shark chair’, to challenge contrasts: of nature and plastic, cold and warm, textured and smooth surfaces. at the end of 2005, the preceding years of research evolved in an organic fashion by transforming into a collection of 31 prototypes that are to be displayed for the first time at albion gallery in london.

Lounging takes on an entirely new meaning thanks to Cor Furniture and designers Kirsten Antje Hoppert and Steffen Kroll of Studio Vertijet. The "Lava" is so many things, "a work of art and a piece of sitting-reclining lounge furniture at the same time, the concept of Lava is as diverse as its uses".

Arthe by Design Prof. Wulf Schnieder + Partner for COR at Magedman Modern Appearances are deceptive because Arthe is more than just a seating programme; it is a whole new experience. Arthe is extremely versatile. A simple handle swivels the suspended arm and backrest away to increase the seating area to a luxurious 85 cm. The metal framework is available finished in lacquer or chrome and not only looks good, but also enables all the mechanics to function faultlessly. Arthe is available in three widths and has a matching footstool and a corner unit, allowing you to create anything from a single sofa to a whole seating group made all the more versatile by the adjustible backrests. The accompanying tables, 50 or 65 cm high, can glide over the seats to create your own self-contained island. Contact Magedman Modern for more information.

The Flow sofa features a contrast of colors like much of what you would see in a common domino. Black and white combine to make a cool looking design fit for a contemporary home setting. This piece comes from Indera Furniture and is designed by Xavier Lust. The frame has been constructed from a single sheet of aluminum. The one piece construction technique creates a futuristic feel since there are no seams anywhere on the frame.
