Ancient Chair Scale

Chair Scale at Zum Goldenen Hirschen (Apotheke) in Vienna
Recently I’ve done a lot of other things than posting here. I thank Julia profoundly for keeping the blog afloat in the meantime.

Last week I was in Vienna where I had discovered this Chair Scale in a pharmacy on a former trip. I took a photo and that was horribly unfocused. This time I was able to take a better one with the kind permission of the apothecary.

The pharmacy has a long history. I doesn’t seem to have a website, but it does have a (German)Wikipedia entry under it’s impressive name Zum Goldenen Hirschen (Apotheke)

Dedegumo Chair Watch

Dedegumo is a watch shop founded in Kyoto, Japan, where each watch is handcrafted and no two pieces are exactly alike. Artificial Grass Chair: Aeron by Makoto Azuma

Makoto Azuma collaborated with Herman Miller to create this custom Aeron chair covered in green AstroTurf, a type of artificial grass. The chair’s functional parts, like the wheels and knobs are left uncovered for easy operation. The chair will be on display at the Tokyo Herman Miller store this summer.
