The Estimate was $6,000 – $8,000 and How High The Moon, a nickled-plated steel mesh armchair, designed by Shiro Kuramata in 1986 fetched $8,750 at Christie’s Sale 2149 “20th century decorative art & design” on 26 March 2009 in New York, Rockefeller Plaza.

Description – “Pantonova” Manufactured by Fritz Hansen and designed by Verner Panton. This iconic line of seating was designed in 1971.

This vintage set of six features rigid chrome steel construction and clean fluid lines. Panton’s outside the box thinking is evident in this seldom seen design.

Each section measures 28″ widest, 21″ deep, 28″ tall with a 15″ seat height. When assembled, the sofa has a diameter of 74″.

Condition – Superb vintage condition with few signs of use (if any).

Price – $5,999. Inquire about custom cushion options for the set.
